In Math last week, students in Ms. Rahal’s class constructed 3-D shapes and began comparing the differences between each of the objects. In both classes, students chose 2 3-D shapes and described how they were the same or different. Next week, students will spend more time comparing various 3-D shapes and will make a video on the similarities or differences of the 2 shapes they have decided to explore. For their math centers, both classes were introduced to 2 new games to further their understanding of 3-D shapes. For the first, students use clues described in the game to identify a shape. For the second, students must play a game of "I Spy" where they spot objects around the room and identify their shape. In Social Studies , both Grade 2 classes are going on a pretend trip to Meteghan, Nova Scotia! Each student has created a travel journal to document this adventure.
